Before muscular optimization: I had gained over 30 pounds, was unable to exercise regularly or play any fun sports like tennis, biking or surfing because a chronic lower back pain. Worse yet daily tasks such as driving or carrying the laundry were very uncomfortable. It was hard to believe I used to be an amateur surfer competitor in Brazil a few years back.
About 18 months ago surfing the internet I came across muscular optimization and Mr. Jeremy R. Warner. After having tried almost everything out there, and being tired of doctors prescribing pain killers I said, why not give it a try?
It was within ONE session that my pain was almost completely wiped out. I could then, join a boot camp, and with Jeremy's help due to his expertise in the area I was able to have my life back. Not only biking and routines tasks were possible but enjoyable again and pain free. I wanted to test out my surfing and voila! I was able to perform at my best ever and here is a shot of my trip last summer to Costa Rica.
I am so thankful to Jeremy! It was because of his knowledge and ability to tailor his skills to my specific needs that I was able to have the surf trip of my dreams. I am looking forward to more surfing this coming weeks as I have just booked my tickets to NE Brazil!
I'm a runner. In the last three months, I've run two half-marathons and two ten-milers, lost 15 pounds, and I am on track to run my first marathon. This is as confident as I've felt in my life. So what? Well, four months ago, when I showed up to my first session with Jeremy, I was obese, lethargic, largely unmotivated, and as far as running is concerned, I could jog maybe 2 minutes before my ankles would start hurting and I'd have to stop. Ten minutes into our first session, I could barely stand up. So you can understand why I tell anyone who will listen that Jeremy is a 'miracle worker.'
How does he do it? At the start of every session he asks about my feet and my legs, and if I'm feeling so much as a tweak, he takes a look, does his muscular optimization magic, and I run pain-free and injury-free. He also tails every workout to my goals, constantly changing it up, keeping it interesting. He's great at explaining and showing what he wants you to do, and making sure you follow through. What sets Jeremy apart from other trainers in addition to the muscular optimization is that he's a great listener - he asks if you're sore anywhere, he remembers your strengths and weaknesses, and keeps tabs on my nutrition and races. I leave every session with a sense of accomplishment - and, of course, exhausted. Finally, and perhaps more importantly, Jeremy is a great guy and a true professional. Anyone who invests their time and money in him will be glad they did.
After my collegiate volleyball career, I was having significant lower back pain issues that resulted in a ruptured disc and back surgery in my mid-20's. Two years after this surgery, the problems returned and I was desperate to find a solution. Having tried multiple other therapies, chiropractic treatments, and medical procedures, none of which provided relief, I found biomechanics and muscular optimization, and my problems were not only alleviated, but completely cured after five one hour sessions.
Obviously, since that time, I have become an ardent supporter of muscular optimization, and have received treatment from more than five providers across the country for various sports and other injuries over the past 12 years. As an impressive testament to their skills and their effectiveness, some of these providers have worked with NFL and NBA teams across the country, and currently work with professional athletes nationwide.
With this past success in mind, I recently became a client of Jeremy R. Warner in Arlington, VA after relocating to this area, and was instantly impressed with his knowledge, skill, and professionalism in biomechanics and muscular optimization. Jeremy's ability to apply and tailor the treatments to my sport and lifestyle specific needs highlighted him in my mind as one of the premiere biomechanics and muscular optimization providers in the country. Based on his highly innovative application and customization of muscular optimization principles (paired with his positive and friendly demeanor), I would highly recommend him to anyone from "couch potato" to high performance athlete who is searching for injury rehabilitation, pain relief, or athletic performance enhancement through biomechanics and muscular optimization. Every person to whom I have recommended muscular optimization in the past has found success with the therapy, and of the many providers with whom I have worked, Jeremy is on the top of that distinguished list.
When I came to Jeremy I had severe plantar fasciitis, which had limited my ability to run. Switching from marathon running to shorter multi-sport events enabled me to stay active, but I really missed the meditative feel of going for long runs. I started working with Jeremy and was impressed with his knowledge of movement and human anatomy. What he said made sense, and with each session my body responded positively. I was able to up my distances to finish two half iron-man distance races after regular biomechanics and muscular optimization sessions. This year I'm proud to say I was able to finish my first marathon in over 10 years. Biomechanics and muscular optimization is now a regular part of my training schedule. I see Jeremy every week, unless my work has me traveling, and boy do I notice a difference after a few weeks away. I'd recommend Jeremy to anyone looking to up their athletic performance, reduce chronic pain, or unlock their movement potential.
I started seeing Jeremy a few months after major surgery for my CP that involved cutting nerves to reduce the spasticity in my legs. The surgery has given me the ability to use muscles I couldn't before, and Jeremy has aided in recovery/strengthening. He's very understanding of the fact that there are a lot of things I just can't do yet and does his best to accomodate. That being said, I find I'm much more in tune with my body with what's going on behind-the-scenes after seeing Jeremy. I feel sore in spots from doing simple movements and he really stresses the fact that muscular optimization is no miracle drug and that reinforcing the mind-muscle connection is a long, slow journey.
